1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230

This car is offered by Geoffista Scott.
Another Vivianite Green SLK that looks to be in much better condition than the one featured previously on the channel!

Scott and I have been discussing this car for a little while, but as it was the second SLK in Vivianite Green, I didn’t want to run it as a ‘main car’ for a Geoffle. So here we are ready for the Christmas Leftovers! Scott is a great guy who is particular about his cars, so it’s a great example. The catch? It’s in Cornwall! ROAD TRIP!

Scott says:

“Very nice Mercedes SLK. automatic, 1998. 100K miles with full history.

MOT until 23 JUNE 2023 WITH NO ADVISORIES.

Dry stored in a perfect environment for the last 7 years. Four virtually new tyres. Expensive chrome roll over hoops with Perspex wind deflector. Presents very well In excellent condition all round. 2 keys and original hand books. Fully retractable steel roof making it a perfect summer and winter car at a bargain price. Everything works as it should.

108500 miles full service including gearbox with receipts to prove…
Geoff’s note… Great, gearbox servicing is important on these, I should know!

Front and rear subframe shave been inspected and only show light corrosion from what I can see. Full vacuum system replacement and by tank fuel pump changed since my ownership

Negatives

Age and a strangely painted interior which is ok but not perfect… Light body corrosion but nothing to right home about and the seats have a few nicks (seat covers would be a good remedy)

Just to add my two pence on that one, these SLKs are great little cars, they really are. Yes, you can find some odd specifications, but that’s late 1990s for you! I think this is a great proposition, and is in better condition than my previous SLK. A lovely car for your summer road trip, proper roof, proper engine, proper boot. Love it.

Great video Scott, shame about the hurricane, ha ha. Cornwall in the winter eh!
