The Not Another Saab Special is OVER

Firstly, thanks to everyone who was involved last night! It was a fun little broadcast, featuring Geoff, Sven, Spiderman and Black Panther. I managed to avoid straying into politics, although we did spend a fair bit of time on the Krispy Kreme Donut Challenge…

So how many Krispy Kreme Donuts (of various flavours) can you do in one sitting?

I’m going to give it a go later this week, do send photo evidence if you give it a try. Free T shirt to the person who can photographically verify the largest number of donuts consumed in one go. (T shirts range from XS to XXL and you never know, maybe some little size 8 lady can do 20 donuts, we’ll find out)

Donuts aside, could the real Christopher Douglas put one hand up, and ink his signature onto the New Keeper section of the Saab 9-3 Turbo Convertible? I’ve not heard from him yet, so all of you people who are claiming he has been in touch and told you to have it, or changing your names by deed poll to Christoper Douglas, or generally shouting ‘redraw’, pipe down.

Next up on the 31st we have the Volvo V70 and BMW E39, except the Touring, as discussed last night, hasn’t worked out. It has been taken down with a very serious bout of warning lights and mysterious electrical enigmas, and has therefore been palmed off to a company that needed an E39 touring to develop some products. Not to worry!

In true Geoff style we have an Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer Super Sub lined up to join the match at the 87th minute… Yup, the E39 530D from last year is back.

So on January 31st I’ll be giving away both the Volvo V70 2.5 20v AND the BMW E39 530D Saloon. First place can choose which one they want, second place gets the other. There’s quite a few cars on the way, coming thick and fast, so we’re lining up for Geoff’s Big Fat February of Fun, after a pretty depressing January.

First up is the Paul Walker Volvo 850 Estate, a lovely car with a 2.5 litre 10v engine, 119k miles and some questionable sticker choices. This one isn’t going to be time limited, I’m quite simply going to limit the number of entries to 250 and switch off the discounts. When it sells out, I’ll do the live broadcast.

That’s going to be a smaller, low profile draw, as the big one at the end of February is a very cool car indeed… a BMW Alpina B10 3.3 Replica. It arrives with me on Wednesday after the worlds longest train journey.

Also arriving in February is the very first Geoff Buys Cars Alfa Romeo… More on this soon.

Another car entering the fray as part of Geoff’s Big Fat February of Fun is a big Swede, in an event I’ll call the 100 Sausage Sausage Fest. This is a 100% charity give away, raising money for the school’s April Bash. Geoff Buys Cars would like to buy 100 hot dogs and pay to hire a room for a few hours, put in a sound system and give all the kids at the primary school a night to remember.

Yes it has a highly inappropriate title, but it’s for a good cause. The car is a Saab 9-5 2.2 diesel estate, purchased by a gentleman that has donated it to Geoff Buys Cars as he wanted to do the NC500 in Scotland. He decked the back out with a bed and did a whole heap of sight seeing, and is now done with the car.

There is a catch…. This gent decided he wanted to film some of his journey to become a YouTube Internet Sensation not unlike myself (lol), but during the only active filming clip where he was recording on the camera, two deer ran out in front of the car and promptly went full Bambi. So the Saab is a little dented at the front. Either way, it’s going to be £3 a go, and it’s for a good cause! It’s MOTd and is in Scotland.

Lastly, as was discussed on the broadcast last night, the Renault Laguna BTCC style car is coming back for another go around the Geoff wheel of fortune. The chap who now owns it got it from me for £10, but when the cold hard reality of having another project car hit home, he decided it was best to do an Elsa from Frozen, and Let It Go.

So we’re running a short raffle and we’ll split the proceeds, I’ll be using my share of the funds to invest in a Ford Mondeo BTCC car project which you’ll all see more of later in the summer. The base car is secured. Other than that I’m putting plans together for a Geoff Buys Cars Track Day, as soon as the Volvo 850 BTCC car has an MOT, which at this rate, might be done before petrol powered cars are banned from the roads completely… Needless to say if you buy a very cheap, battered and bruised old Volvo and cover it in paint and stickers, it’s important to remember at MOT time that underneath the pretty race car livery is still a very cheap, battered and bruised old Volvo.

That’s all for now, there’s new T shirt designs on the web shop so go and check ‘em out, and further bulletins as events warrant!
