So just after the Slippers Special, Geoffista and friend Matt gets in touch (the very same Matt who owned the Audi A8 that was secured by Chris in the Luxury Special). Matt has a bit of a problem buying cars, not unlike myself, and had sort of accidentally on purpose agreed to buy 2x BMW E39 Tourings.

Knowing I’d been after a good BMW E39 for a little while, Matt offered me this example and naturally I jumped at the opportunity, so he went to collect it.

On the drive home Matt reported that it drove beautifully, coming from a loving home and it all appears to be present and correct, aside from the rear towbar cover! Showing just a few battle scars from it’s 22 years, the relatively low figure of 116,000 miles shows on the odometer and it has to be said that the colour combination is quite simply wonderful. These BMW E39s have been touted as the next up and coming classic car, and what I love about these well built and elegant big BMWs is their versatility. This car can be used for the tip run, that long distance jaunt to see the family by the coast and if cleaned up a little bit, it can be parked up on the village green for the summer classic car show. There can’t be many left in this colour, so this is a car that’s well worth holding on to, making small improvements as you go and enjoying!
