1969 Renault 10

Ah the famous Renault 10…!

It’s a 1.3 litre four speed manual and it zips along quite nicely.

Bought by me on a whim at the tail end of summer 2023, it was a bit of a project but I drove it home and then promptly broke down.

A South African import, the roof was badly damaged in transit so that was the first big job to resolve. In my ownership it has had…

  • interior stripped, all floors painted
  • front boot stripped and painted
  • ignition system overhaul – leads, cap, coil, electronic ignition
  • oil and filter change
  • four new brake calipers (sourced from France)
  • four new Toyo tyres
  • wheels all powder coated
  • roof repaired properly (cost more than £2k to do!)
  • funky carpet added in the cabin and boot area (in the front)
  • custom made rear parcel shelf, matching carpet
  • funky headlining
  • and probably more that I’ve forgotten…
